Adventure 8

Do you like Locusts?

I must confess, I love the look of a Honey Locust or a neatly trimmed Sunburst Locust, but they are good for nothing

Their little leaves get stuck in eavestroughs (plugging them up) It is hard as h*ll to cut with a saw, which brings me to my point.

This story is not funny at all, but then again I have learned my lesson. So I am at home trimming my opwn trees, might I add trimming is not taking off a branch here or there. It is a full all out slaughter. We take the tree and make it half the size it used to be. So I am up in the tree and I am out of shape because I haven't been working in a few months. The locust is the hardest wood to cut and I have already done a few too many branches. This branch that happens to be sticking straight up is my last cut.

I have my work face on, which is biting my top lip with my lower teeth. And this drop has to be precise because if it isn't I will rip down some powerlines or I have my choice of knocking the window out of the truck. So the branch has to fall toward me. I get it cut, it falls back on me and I am holding this 12 foot branch on my shoulder. I drop it, and I rest only to have it bounce back up in my face and splitting my lip in half. The blood is gushing like those fountians in the middle of the mall. I am gettting woosy from the blood loss and I am up at the top of the tree. Getting down sucked.

My mom pulls her patented freakout, and as I am looking at the inside of my upper lip, I am about to pass out. So I sit down.

Needless to say, it was quite an adventure, thank you to the nice doctor at the hospital for stiching me up ;-)
