Now I don't know what everyones problem is with Mel the Camp owner.
Perhaps a little backround on Mel, shall we? Mel is played by veteran
actor Mike Kellin, who has starred in films and Tv show such as
"At War with the Army, 1959" "Riot, 1968" "The Mad, Mad Moviemakers, 1974"
"Freebie and the Bean, 1974" and he made numerous appearances on the Tv
Shows "The Untouchables" and "The Twilight Zone". Sadly though, a bit after
he was done filming Sleepaway Camp he died of Throat Cancer. Hummmm? Throat
Cancer, ehh?
This is my rendition of Mel the camp owner being killed, did he really need to die? Some say yes, some say no? The thing is he knew damn well what was happening in his camp. Anyone ever see the movie Indian Summer? Well the camp owner knew everyone and everything that went on at that camp and not a second went by where he didn't know what was going on. He knew that Artie the Chef was a pedophile . . and . . . I think he was too I mean, Meg is pretty hot and what not (when she isn't on one of her power trips) But he was dropping clues everywhere, and so was Meg for that matter .. but I will save Meg for later. Back to the fact that he knew who the killer was from the start.. I don't want to hear any of that "Ricky Theory" crap that everyone tries to push, I am all for saying Angela killed everyone. Ricky got the basic jist of what was going on, but he was not an acomplist. Mel was just consfused when he beat up Ricky like Grover from Seasame Street would.
He did have some good in him, he was teaching the kids how to swing the bat, and he helped Angela up when she got knocked out by that oncoming water ballon. LOL Not only that he did have some morals, I mean he may have been out to get the money but, running a summer camp isn't cheap and the man was in financial ruin. Just like he said "No one is gonna want to send their kid to camp if they are gonna get killed!"
So in all, Mel was a good guy, who just owned the wrong camp at the wrong time, oh just one question? Why did he always look directly into the camera.
