first. i loved it so much, i even had to ask the video store if i could buy
it off them. I didn't get it thought. I will not reveal the ending to
anyone, but it was relly disturbing. The way Angela moand and groand at the

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

RICK!!!

I'm amazed at the responses you have gotten by "fans" of the Sleepaway series. I was actually in the movie Sleepaway Camp II and III (they filmedthem almost silmultaneously) as a camper and even while I was sitting there,in the mess hall watching Pamela Springsteen play her guitar... I thought, 'this is going to be a movie? I hope it looks better on film.' I suppose it has its following... but I'm still amazed. But for those wondering where Sleepaway Camp II was filmed, it was a little camp ground in Waco, Georgia just off of I-20 near the border of Alabama. Can't remember the name of the campground but I remember it had a very bumpy, down hill dirt road leading to it. And to this day, I still can't get the "Happy Camper" song out of my head. James
When i first saw Sleepaway Camp, I thought that it would
be like Friday the 13th, but I was wrong. I hated it the
first time, and I had nightmares when I saw the ending
when everyone found out that Angela was really a guy and
not a girl. I saw it again and liked it a little better.
I also saw part 2 and 3 and Angela was played by Bruce
Springsteen's younger sister Pam, who did a better job
than Felissa Rose(Who played Angela in the first one).
But the sequels weren't better and the stories were a
little pointless(sometimes). Slasher fans, like me, may
enjoy part 2, because it's the most violent one of the
series. Plus it pokes fun at various slasher flicks. I
think that they should make a part 4, even if it's been
a decade since part 3 was made. But you never know with
the comeback of slasher films like Scream, I Know What You
Did Last Summer, and others. I think that Angela should
definitely die in part 4 if they make one and no more bad
ending's, even if part 3 had a bit of a better ending.
Anyone who would know anything about a part 4 planned
please e-mail me at [email protected]. I think that it
was great that such music scores by heavy metal bands like
Anvil, Hurricane and Obsession were featured in the sequels,
and I have their albums too.
Please let me know about Part 4!!!
I am also a big fan of Friday the 13th,
A Nightmare On Elm Street,
Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween.
All for now,
         Greg Tiderington

Hi!

Well I think you are doing an excellent job with the site. I mean,
what better movies to make a site about? A friend recommended
Sleepaway Camp a few years ago and since I've seen the series,
horror movies for me have never been the same.
However, these movies (for me, anyway) aren't really horror but
black comedy.I laugh so hard whenever I watch them! Call me
deranged, but...!

My fav was in #3 after Cindy's head got pounded into the parking lot
...Lily says "Where's Cindy?" and Angela says "At the main camp...
she's got a headache!" Now THAT is acting! (and Cindy was a witch
 anyway!)
I have a great idea...I think the film companies who put together
the movies should re-master them with stereo sound and put together
a brand-new boxed set! That way, no more running to the local
video store when you need a "Sleepaway" fix!

I'll "camp" with SC till I die...this site is the bomb!

Dustin from St. Norbert

awesome website.... I hope sleepaway camp 4 is made... i dunno...
weird.... to bad there were only three songs in sleepaway camp,
because they were pretty good. I'd buy the soundtrack any day.

~J
Dude! #2 was the best, like when Sean's head was in the TV!
I like on the 3rd one with the lawn mower and the jeep and
rope part!

Yea, Sleepaway Camp rules!! I collect low-budget horror movies and
Sleepaway Camp is close to my favorite and i have seen ALOT of movies!! The
only others that compare with Sleepaway Camp are Silent Night Deadly Night,
Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Demonic Toys. Ricky Caldwell (Silent Night Deadly
Night 2) is the perfect match for Angela!! He kills the "naughty" ones. When
will there be a SC 4?! We've waited over 10 years for one!! I might just have
to make it........long live Camp Arawak/Rolling Hills/New Horizons!!

Hi! I just saw your Sleepaway Camp site and thought
it was awesome! The original movie is very cheesy,
but that is part of its appeal. I used to have the
original, but it never worked and I had to throw it
out. It ranks right up there with two other movies I
have as the cheesiest, Blood Feast and The Incredible
Two-Headed Transplant.

I agree with you're reviews of the "Sleepaway Camp" series. The first
"Sleepaway Camp" was a perfect example of a hilarious, entertaining,
cheesy slasher movie. And the ending is what makes this film classic.
I remember watching this with a friend of mine and we both screamed
aloud during the last few frames of this movie. (We were fucking 16
too!) Great movie that I really want to own. Just can't find the damn
thing anywhere. They should re-release this puppy. It has developed a
fairly strong cult following and I think a re-release could prove
profitable.

I read all of the emails posted and noticed that alot of the messages
arent from real sleepaway camp fans, Just people who liked the movie and
thought it was "COOL"
The movie truly had a feel that any fan finds hard to explain,For one
thing the acting was excellent, I know for some people this sounds like
a joke but think about it... 9/10 or more of the cast were children yet
they were all able to act quite well but in a natural real life kind of
way. I would find it very difficult to read a script and then say the
lines without looking like I was acting. The big budget films of today
are way over-acted, I mean pick any higher budget summer camp movie such
as " Poison Ivy" or a horror film that gets more credit like "Silence of
the Lambs" nobody in the real world truly acts like that.
The things that made Sleepaway Camp great were... Realistic
Settings-Realistic Acting-Very "Taboo"Subject Matter For That Time-The
Perfect Portrail Of A Real Summer Camp-
Sleepaway Camp didnt even feel like a movie, It seemed as if the
scenes were really happening and the camera man was
just capturing the whole thing on film. This is the "documentary feel"
that made classic exploitation films like "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre",
" I Spit On Your Grave", and " Last House On The Left"
such cult classics. For some reaon Sleepaway Camp was ignored and
labeled a knock-off of Friday the 13th, Even though it was far superior
to any of the above if the truth were known.
I can still see the opening scene,The camera glides through the
abandoned camp with a light, pleasent yet creepy tune in the backgroud
and the faint cheering, playing, and yelling of children."Quiet
Please!!,Dedicated To Bunk 19" ... " You Better Watch It With That Pail
Of Water, I'll Kill You". The wonderful scenes of autum folliage with
every background scene in focus. They have never made a film quite like
this ever, No other film has ever portrayed a summer camp quite as well
as this one and the realism was lacking in the two sequels which is why
alot of fans as well as myself never really liked them.
Well I'm sorry this letter is so long but I have to cut off
somewhere.

First Sleepaway Camp Experience:
I was about 6, and living overseas, the cover was really freaky-a close
up shot of the water snake victim. I HAD to have it. My Dad rented it
for me, and what followed imbedded itself in my head forever. Although
being a kid I had no knowledge of the nature of sexuality, the ending
still haunted me to know end. A true exercise in disturbing morbidness.

Sleepaway Camp is the scariest movie of all time!! From the sad boating
accident to the creepy ending. It should be more recognized for its
scariness. It's the best horror movie around.

Drayton Sawyer

How can you not love the Sleepaway Camp series. I mean really? Cheesy
acting, an array of weaponry, a pile of victims far succeeding ten in
each lovely installment, and three old men who were actually actors
before their trip to Sleepaway Camp. I am referring to Mike Kellin
(who's awesome), Walter Gotell, and Michael Pollard. Gotta love these
old fogies, huh? Well, your site is awesome. Keep it up. Love it
almost as much as I love the series. Where's part 4, heck, we should
all get together and write it. Whoo-hoo!

The SLEEPAWAY CAMP trilogy is one of the best horror series ever made!!
It glorifies all the wonderful atmosphere of Summer Camp and all the
many different personalities that you would meet there! Angela is the
greatest!! The movies are fun to watch even when you watch them over
and over again...LONG LIVE SLEEPAWAY CAMP!!! Everything about these
movies rocks!!!! Part 3 should have been gorier but it was still a
blast!! What I wanna kow is WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO Felissa Rose and The
kid who played Ricky! Maybe now that Horror is HUGE again...we can see
them reunite in A RETURN TO SLEEPAWAY CAMP! I would DIE for that!!!!
SLEEPAWAY 4Ever!!!!

Hi,
I love your page and really want to see this film. I heard about the
"infamous" ending. I saw the sequals. I liked part 3. part 2 was stupid
a disgusting (like the girls head in the toliet). Next time i go to the
mall, I am going to ask Suncoast to order this film for me. I wrote a
letter to anchor bay asking them to re-release them

	Josh

Great Sleepaway Camp section. I have never seen any of them but i want
to get all of them. I heard that 2 and 3 are out of print. Sucks, gonna
be a pain in the ass trying to get them. Oh and on Sleepaway Camp 2 you
said it had the highest kill rate of 19. Actually Jason Goes To Hell
does from what i've seen. It has a kill rate of 25 or more.

Sean Dunham

In response to your letter about the kill number, there is no
comparison to the kills in Friday the 13th and sleepaway Camp,
I didn't say the most, I said :

". . . 19 Dead People, a Kill List So Diverse, That it will never
be matched again by ANY Horror Movie."

Diversity is the key here, thanks for stopping by,
 tell all your friends :-)

 hello.
Guess who this is? it is I,the number one fan, hehe.I don't have to tell
you how I feel about the movie because you already know. But I will tell you
anyway.I LOVE "SLEEPAWAY CAMP".I ADORE IT! I WORSHIP IT! I am mad over this
movie and if I ever meet Mr.Robert Hiltzik,I will kiss his feet.I really will!

	Almost Angela

This movie was the bomb. I loved it, and have for quite a few years
now.I appreciate your web site, and the pictures were great.
My favorite part of the first one was when she killed Judy... you have
to admit, she deserved it.
Anyway, thanks for the info, Sleepaway camp sure beats Titanic any
day of the week.Maybe Angela should have been on Titanic...
That would have spared me all the tragedy of looking at Leonardo
Dicaprio's gay- sorry, you told me to leave my language out of
this... but thanks.Angela could have drowned Kate Winslet and put
her out of her misery so I wouldn't have to sit through
three hours of, "I'm' flying Jack!" Did you see that movie, geez,
after the first three times and no date, It really starts to suck.
I have a tendency to ramble, so forgive me, but I get a little lonely
sometimes.I should have taken a few dates to see sleepaway camp,
oh yeah, I was only like, two, anyway, how ya doin'?
Sorry for wasting your time, guess I'll go, now,
see ya's

LONG LIVE ANGELA! HAIL TO THE HE/SHE MASS MURDERER!
(She could take Manson any day of the week.)

Bye, we love you,
Laci and Mindy!
Your site is the best site I've ever beem to! I love
part 2 because of that 80's hard core heavy metal feel.
Along with all the differnt kinds of deaths. Where was
part 2 filmed? I heard that it was going to be called
Terror Vacationland or something like that. Do you
know the bands that did the opening song, and the last
song "Desperate to Survive"? it's on the credits but the
writting is too small. Other good movies are Creepshow 1
and 2, Demon Wind, Cheerleader Camp, Demon Wind and From
Dusk Till Dawn. I wish that they made an updated version
of sleepaway camp or even part 4.Is there any other good
Camp movies and i read about a new movie called Campfire
Tales and was wondering if that was any good?
